Young Allen was orphaned as an infant and was raised by his brothers. He served under Capt. Kendrick in the Seminole War of 1836. He was a farmer. After marriage to Sarah, they moved to Chambers Co., AL (Standing Rock and Fredonia). Then they moved to 5 mi. NW of Roanoke, Randolph Co., AL on Highpine Creek. There they belonged to the old Highpine Church (Missionary Baptist). By 1850 he and his family had settled near Lineville, Clay Co., AL. (William R. Moon)
